Winter has finally arrived and it’s beginning to look and feel a lot like Christmas. Heavy snow and frosty cold temperatures can keep kids indoors where it’s cozy and warm, but it may be a little boring. Not for us. During these down times, we enjoy hanging out and playing lots of different games.
Playing games is a great way to get family time in during the holiday season, and Hasbro always makes it fun and affordable. As a Hasbro family, we have our favorites, but we are continually looking for new games to add to our collection, like the ones below.
Trivial Pursuit 2000s is all about putting your knowledge to the test about things that have happened since the year 2000 to the present day. If you’ve played other Trivial Pursuit games, then you know you have to answer trivia questions to earn colored wedges. To play, toss the dice and move clockwise around the board. The color of the space you land on determines which card category you answer. There are six categories: Places, The arts, Entertainment, Science & Tech, Events, & Sports and Hobbies.
When you choose a card, you must decide on the whether you want to stump the other players or answer the question yourself. If you stump them, they must unanimously decide on an answer. If they get it correct, they move ahead one space and you stay where you are. If they are incorrect, you get to a wedge of that categories color and move to that colors home space. Now if you choose to answer the question yourself, the player to your right will read the top question on the card. If you answer correctly, you get to take a wedge of that color and move to its home space. Those who circle the board once and collect all wedge colors along the way wins. We love this game. It’s addictive and fun for bigger kids and adults. 2 – 6 players can play, and it’s recommended for ages 16+. Retails for $40 – 50 depending on where it’s purchased.
