Sonic Alert Ampli 455 Phone
A few months ago my mother in law had to make the transition into a seniors lodge. She was unable to care for herself due to her poor vision and loss of hearing. She also fell and broke her right wrist so it was the right time to move her where she could be cared for.
She has had difficulty phoning family and friends for quite awhile now. She cannot see the small numbers on her phone plus she just can’t hear them well. Thankfully Sonic Alert carries products that are designed for people who have hearing loss. I was very fortunate to get Sonic Alert’s new phone the Geemarc Ampli455. This phone is matchless when it comes to assisting seniors or people with hearing loss.
This phone takes it a few steps further than the average amplified phone. When you first see the phone you 
will notice the very big numbers. My mother in law really appreciated being able to see the numbers, but it gets better. The Geemarc Ampli455 has talking keys. When you press any of the numbers a woman’s voice tells you what number you just pressed. The numbers light up when you press them as well. The display screen is quite large 3″ x 1.5″ and will show you in bold print the numbers you pressed as well as who is phoning you. This phone flashes when it rings and also has talking call display, so a voice will tell you the number calling. My mother in law think this is fabulous.
Another unique feature is this phone can be programmed in four different languages, English, French, Spanish and German. This is a great help for those who’s home language is not English.
The Ampli455 is a very loud phone with adjustable volume control (up to 40dB) and adjustable receiving tone control (+/- 10dB). My mother in law has her phone set almost to the maximum volume. There is an Ampli button that provides extra amplification if needed. She’s very happy she can hear the phone ring and easily communicate with her callers either on the handset or through the speaker phone.
If she presses a wrong number in error all she has to do is press the bright red clear button and start again. Another great feature is the amplified digital loud answering machine which is easily set to answer on 3 – 6 rings or on Toll saver and has a slow message playback feature. Supplied with the phone is a bed shaker, but at the moment my mother says she does not need it. It will be there for the future.
There are a few more features to this phone but we have kept it as uncomplicated as possible for my mother in law. The Ampli455 has really enhanced my mother in laws life. She is actively using the phone and so glad she can call her friends and visit.

Super Shaker Bed Vibrator because I can’t hear my alarm any more. I just went to have another hearing test and again it was worse than the last. I am currently trying to get hearing aids but they are so costly and insurance doesn’t cover so this would at least help me wake up in time for work until I can afford to get my hearing aides.
